4.5 stars I had to take a half point away because of Dylan's drunken hookups. Avery I can understand, she thought it was over. Dylan on the other hand, says he still loves Avery and plans on getting her back when she comes home from college. I was disappointed in him for that. I know this is fiction and it's not realistic, but I want my book boyfriends to be true to their love interest. Other than that it was a great book.

Reminding Avery edition by Kaylee Ryan Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This was a beautiful and painful story of young love. These two meet their senior year of high school, taking things slow (unlike other books out there) their relationship blooms and they become inseparable. They even wait over 9 months to make love, both 18 years old and they were smart about it.
Avery had worked for years to earn a full ride scholarship to her dream school 5 hours away from their hometown while Dylan is preparing to take over his father auto repair shop in their hometown. Avery wants to give up the scholarship get loans and go closer to home. And so the issues began. Men aren't made like Dylan very often. He is willing to sacrifice and do the long distance relationship so that she can follow her dreams. Avery is hard headed puts up numerous fights and backs Dylan into a corner. He decides to break things off in hopes that she will follow her dreams or see the light. Her family supports him. And so begins a 4 year heartbreak for these two.
During that time Dylan saves, goes on to get an Associates degree and buys Avery her dream home. All while waiting for her and watching from the shadows with the help of her family.
They are finally forced together during their BFF's wedding. No spoilers from here on!
The author has a beautiful way with words and how these two describe their love. So very sweet and romantic.
I would have give 5 stars had they both not slept with other people during the few years apart. While Dylan was no manwhore, I was very disappointed when he admitted to "a few drunken mistakes". Dylan was Avery's first, she admitted that this was "giving herself to him". I was shocked that she slept with a few guys in college. I felt that was something too precious for these to two to take so lightly.
I will most definitely read more by this author.
4.5 Stars

Reminding Avery is a beautifully written second chance romance, where we get to see Avery and Dylan fall in love, and fall apart, and then find their way back to one another again. I read this book in one sitting and definitely have a book hangover now!

When we first meet Avery and Dylan, they are high school seniors, and Avery is untouchable, due to who her brother is, but Dylan doesn't care and once he gets to know her, there is no stopping him from going after her. The attraction and feelings between these two are undeniable and throughout their senior year we get to see an amazing and beautiful love story form. I loved watching these two fall in love with one another, and I was like I want a Dylan in my life! The way Dylan loves Avery is beautiful and selfless. He would do anything for Avery and he proves it by breaking his own heart.

Four years later these two are back in the same town again, and Dylan is still in love with Avery and is now fighting with everything he has to get her back. Since this book is told in both of the characters points of view, we really got to see the pain Avery felt, but also the pain Dylan felt with the decisions he made. Seeing these two apart broke my heart, just like their hearts were breaking. I wanted Avery to see everything Dylan did for her, and I wanted Dylan to speak up and explain what he did and why he did it. Both of them had make some pretty stupid decisions when they were younger, but their love for one another hadn't changed. They both were immature at times, but one thing that never changed was their feelings for one another, it's just getting them on the same page at the same time, that took a lot of time.

The one thing I loved I loved in this book was the secondary characters. Alan, Brad, Harley, Avery's parent's, Dylan's dad, Brad's parents, and even Kara. They all played such a huge part in Avery and Dylan's story and helped form the relationship these two have. They helped them see things in different ways, and were there for them when they always needed it.

This story was beautifully written and engaging. I loved the characters and how the story flowed. I wanted to love and hate Avery and Dylan at times, but I understand why their journey had to be the way it was. Their story wouldn't have been as amazing, if it wasn't for the heartbreak we had to endure as readers to get the ending that the characters deserved, as well as the extended epilogues! I highly recommend one-clicking Reminding Avery by Kaylee Ryan today, it's a book you won't regret reading!
This book is a sugary sweet romance. Definitely no angst, so if you don't like anything that requires tissues this is the book for you. It wasn't a bad book by any means. I did like the fact that while the main characters were split, the author didn't go with the usual " guy is a man whore and girl never even looks at another guy". They both dated and.. such. What I didn't like was the fact that everyone in this poor girls life completely lied to her for 4 YEARS! Her family and her best friend. When she finds out she is upset for like an hour. Like.... no sweat, who doesn't love liars and people who make decisions for you. No worries we will wait one more year to tell you the truth. But her reaction is what killed it for me. Oh well it had multiple happy endings, so much that I got a toothache. 🙄
